Grooming · Morning and evening, in the minutes you have

Grooming Routine

Skin type, beard, how much time you will honestly spend and what bothers you. A morning and evening routine with the steps, the minutes and the product types, not the brands.

Most grooming advice assumes twenty minutes and a bathroom shelf of products. The Grooming Routine builds a plan around what you have: five, ten or twenty minutes, your skin, your beard and the one or two things you actually want fixed. It names product types, so you can buy them in any pharmacy.

The routines are built from the same principles as the Grooming department: cleanse, moisturise, protect in the morning; cleanse, treat, moisturise at night; a wet shave done properly. Nothing here is medical advice; persistent skin problems belong with a dermatologist.

Questions we get asked

Why no brand names?

Because the pharmacy brands work as well as the luxury ones and the tool should not date. Buy the product type from a brand a dermatologist would use.

Can I skip the sunscreen in winter?

No. The tool will not let you, and neither should you. It is the one product with decades of evidence.

What about hair?

Wash it twice a week, use less product than you think, and see the barber every four weeks. The routine covers the face; the barber article covers the rest.
